Finally i've completed Course:Achieve by ZHSJ.It lasted 5 tormenting days, and ended with a mock first aid competition on the last day.Which was today of course! It was 5 of the most tough days in SJAB to me, from doing things like running to the national stadium, to carrying stretchers until the skin on my palm tore. But as grueling as the training was, my footdrill , first aid, alertness, decsiveness, and discipline improved tremendously.I even feel alittle more hardworking =)
Then we had a competition today. One of the cases was to carry a casualty down a flight of narrow stairs using a stretcher, and it was a disaster! Our casualty almost slide out of the stretcher and into the flight of stairs below!
Then there was 2 first aid cases and footdrill, we fared ok in the first aid and i was even praised for being so good at reassuring the casualty=) Then all was ok in footdrill until my teammate turned in the wrong direction while marching.=(
As there was only 2 Guy teams, it was either win or lose....and.........my group lost. Not by 10 marks, 5 marks or even 1 mark. But 0.5 marks.....-_- so if we didn't cock up in footdrill or transporting the casualty, we would have won.
But even though i lost, my real purpose all along was to just learn new stuff in first aid so i can help others.Believe it or not.And it was really not about winning but the experience you see......
